Mani signs up Vijay for a commercial film

Every actor or actress has a desire to work with top directors like Shankar and Manirathnam. The same is with Ilayathalapathy Vijay as his long-standing dream is to work with both of them. It looks like one of his desires has been fulfilled with Nanban as he is working with director Shankar. His next dream of working under the direction of Mani Ratnam too came his way but during the last minute the project has been shelved.

It is learnt that his much-publicized project Ponniyin Selvan with Mani Ratnam has been shelved due to financial issues and other constraints. But nothing to worry as the director is most likely to cast Vijay in the lead role in his next film. As Vijay’s dates of Ponniyin Selvan are with director Mani Ratnam, he decided to utilize the same dates for a commercial film in which Vijay plays the role of an action hero. When Mani asked the same dates for the commercial film, Vijay immediately nodded and has signed the agreement. The film is planned to be made with a budget of Rs.25 crores.

On the eve of Vijay’s birthday during next month an official announcement in this regard is expected to be made by the filmmakers.
