Mankatha Audio Release on August 10

Sony Music Entertainment, a leading global music company and the market leader in Tamil along with Cloud Nine are launching the eagerly awaited Ajith's Mankatha album on August 10.

There will not be any big launch function; instead the audio will be available at the stores on Wednesday morning.

Around the same time in an innovative manner fans across Chennai can tune in to Radio Mirchi and listen to the songs of the from the film and chat with Yuvan Shankar Raja and Venkat Prabhu.

Additionally, Sony Music has launched an online pre booking offer which has witnessed a tremendous response.

In May they had launched a single CD track of Vilayadu Mankatha that became a runaway hit.

Now Sony Music plans to leverage its digital delivery infrastructure to ensure that all music lovers can access the Mankatha songs legitimately.

These songs will be available through Nokia ovi store as well as through legal downloads on the internet.

Aishwarya Dhanush project titled as 3

Aishwarya Dhanush, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth held a press meet today (August 5) to officially announce her maiden film as director.

The film titled 3, has started rolling in Chennai and Aishwarya introduced her team members to the media.

The film has Dhanush, her husband in the lead with Amala Paul as heroine. Camera is by Velraj, and editor is Kola Bhaskar.

A new music director Anirudh is being introduced with Kastoori Raja producing it.

Like the title, the function was small and sweet. There was Q & A session in which Aishwarya and Dhanush patiently answered all the questions and gave bytes to the channels. But they were tight lipped about the plot and why such a title.

She also said that rest of the cast will be finalised soon and the shoot will resume from August 20.

Aishwarya said: "I cannot reveal much about the story and genre but I promise that it will be complete entertainer within the realistic format".

When asked on why she did not start her first film with the superstar, Dhanush grabbed the mike and said in a lighter vein: "She is first trying out with a small hero and then is doing a film with the superstar"

Rowthiram Release on August 12

Super Good Films and producer RB Choudary has finally confirmed the release date of Jiivva's Rowthiram on August 12.

There was talk in the trade that the film was being postponed to August 19.

A trade source says : "Jiiva’s dad RB Choudary is a shrewd businessman and understands the importance of August 12 the Independence day weekend though it falls in the month of Aadi. Jiiva will get a four day weekend (Aug 12 to 15) and a bigger opening with no opposition."

Rowthiram is said to be a mass masala entertainer directed by Gokul and music by debutant Prakash Nikki. It has the glamorous Shriya in the female lead and an array of top villains like Prakash Raj, Babu Antony and Ganesh Acharya in supporting roles.

Though the shoot of the film got delayed for some official reasons but the post production works are going on in full swing without wasting a single second. The team is currently working round the clock for completing the dubbing works. Director Venkat Prabhu along with his team members has been to Hyderabad recently to complete the dubbing portion as Ajith is busy shooting for Billa 2 in Hyderabad.

Ajith is reportedly said to be working 24/7 as he is working for Billa 2 for 12 hours and the next 10hrs he is spending his time for dubbing works of Mankatha.

Mankatha team confesses that the film will be a real great treat to Thala fans and will surely reach the fans expectations.

The music given by Yuvan is said to be outstanding and the music is hitting the stores on August 10th.

Gautham Menon & Vijay to Make a Film - Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru


This is a long time coming together of Gautham Menon and Vijay that is happening through a surprise announcement today of the film “Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru with the tag lines “MISSION 1: NEW YORK CITY”.

Gautham Menon’s Photon Kathaas Productions produces the film to be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon starring Ilayathalapathi Vijay. As of now, only the film’s announcement has been made. The shoot will begin in 2012.
Other members of the cast and crew are expected to be announced sometime this year. Wonder how many times we explore and criticize plagiarism that it still keeps happening. Of course, we cannot curb it nor do we claim to, but we point out.
The poster itself shares similarities with “Largo Winch”, a 2008 film. The film is about a billionaire son avenging the murderers of his father. While the murderers try to steal his financial empire, can the billionaire son prevent them from doing so is the story of Largo Winch. The film is inspired from the Belgian comic by the same name. Let us wait and see how close the film is to the story of Largo Winch!

Vaanam completes 100 days

Simbu starrer Vaanam has successfully completed 100 days of run in Chennai. The film crossed 100-day mark and made good revenues in the centers released.

Vaanam, the remake of critically acclaimed Telugu film Vedam has Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka, Jasmine, Santhanam in the lead roles. Simbu is going gaga with the success and he is in plans to throw a grand party to his friends and colleagues to celebrate the film’s success,’ circles close to him say.

In the era of piracy and television serials, the film managed to pull the audiences to the screens for its sensible and heart touching story. Vaanam directed by Krish and is jointly produced by Ganesh Janardhanan and R. Ganesh while it is distributed by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Cloud Nine Movies.
