Blackburn could be without their two most experienced central defenders. Chris Samba is doubtful with a groin injury while Ryan Nelsen, though back in training, is still feeling the after-effects of his knee operation. Steve Kean: "We want to bring in another striker, we want to bring in another midfield player and we want to bring in a centre back. There's no secrets in telling anybody that, those are the areas we want to strengthen, we've got good options in the wide areas, we've got good options elsewhere but strengthening that spine of the team is something that we want to do and I'm confident we can do that before the window closes."
Mick McCarthy: "There's no doubt we'll feel that touch of anxiety and nerves, but if you don't have that then there's something wrong. You do all your preparation and as much as you can while people are away and we will be fully prepared because we've played well in the friendlies and we've worked well in training."
