May the 13th will witness the light welterweight bout between Kendall Holt & Julio Diaz taking place at Shumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.

Holt, the clear favourite going into the match has a record of 26-4 with 14 KOs. With a reach of 71 inches, this 29 year old boxer has recently defeated likes of Lenin Arroyo, Demetrius Hopkins, Ricardo Torres & Ben Tackie. In fact his fight against Arroyo was the last he fought in January this year where he knocked down his opponent. But he also has tasted defeat in the hands of Kaizer Mabuza & Timothy Bradley.

Diaz, it was rumoured, was unwilling to have this fight in the first place. He hasn’t had a great form lately where he lost 3 of his last 7 fights. His last fight was against Pavel Miranda which he won by a TKO. Right now it seems that orthodox style of this Mexican is no match for Holt’s power & experience. If the rumours of his unwillingness about this fight are true then he is going into the fight with a low confidence & unless he comes out of it he stands no chance against someone like Holt.
